About Australian Books for Children of Africa

Commencing operations in October 2003, Australian Books for Children of Africa Ltd (ABCA) is a non-profit organisation supplying educational material to impoverished schools of Africa.

ABCA sends second hand books from Australia to less privileged  communities in Africa deprived of basic educational materials.

ABCA's volunteers are involved in all aspects of its operation including:

  • Collection of books and other educational material
  • Communication with overseas schools
  • Australian Schools Progammes 
  • Packing
  • Shipping
  • Customs and clearing and
  • Distribution to learning institutions

ABCA has so far provided over 180 000 books to around 110 schools and institutions from pre-school to secondary level in Africa.
