CityKidz Primary School -Johannesburg

ABCA books were delivered to CityKidz Primary School, which is situated in an industrial area in the Johannesburg inner-city. ABCA donated books to the school many years ago, and they contacted us again this year to ask for more books. The school has grown over the last few years – they have students attending from the inner-city, Hillbrow and Soweto.

The school does not have a library, but each classroom has its own reading corner with many books. The school held a competition for the class with the best reading corner, and are also in the process of running a Spelling Bee competition. The students are encouraged to read as much as possible. Every week, each student takes a book home to read, and the parents are encouraged to read at home together with their children. The school were very appreciative and excited to receive ABCA books, and sent us many photos of the students looking at the books!
