Zibalongwe Primary and Zibalongwe Secondary Schools - Zimbabwe

Collin Nyabadza of The Collin Nyabadza Children's Voice Charitable Trust writes:

“ABCA books were donated to Zibalongwe Primary and Zibalongwe Secondary Schools located in Tsholotsho Rural District in Matabeleland North Province, Zimbabwe. This province has some of the most disadvantaged rural schools in the country. A lot of those schools are in dire straits which is why organisations such as mine are doing everything possible to support them.

Zibalongwe Secondary School is a fairly new school, started by the Zibalongwe Community, one of the most hardworking communities I am yet to work with in the whole of Matabeleland region. They really want to see their children get an education. Before the secondary school was established, the majority of the children who would have completed their primary education at Zibalongwe Primary School, were being forced to walk more than 20km each day to attend the nearest secondary school. Consequently, many of them were dropping out of school. They would then illegally cross the border into neighbouring South Africa where they would do menial jobs or get involved in criminal activities. We are trying to use the power of education to help change this narrative. My desire it to have container libraries, like the Mandela Library Project do in South Africa, for our disadvantaged rural schools in Zimbabwe.

Let me take this opportunity of thanking you and your team for your kindness and thoughtfulness towards the rural school children of Zimbabwe. I can never thank you enough. I am someone who loves books (reading), as such I always want to do whatever it takes to help disadvantaged rural school children of Zimbabwe to get access to reading materials. It’s great pleasure knowing and working with kind-hearted people like you. May the dearest Lord continue to keep guide and keep you safe.”
